In what currency are the Credit Cards issued?
In US currency only. GBP, EUR and CAD bank account holders can apply for credit cards, but all card activity will be settled in US currency.
Can I view my credit card transaction history?
Yes, via our Free online banking system. Additionally, monthly statements will be sent in the mail for you to view your transactions
Are the Credit Cards issued based on credit history or are the cards secured cards?
The cards are issued as secured credit cards. A cash collateral deposit of 150% of the credit limit is required as collateral for the Bank.
Are the cards issued in the person’s name or in the name of the corporation?
For personal account: The card is issued in the name of the person/cardholder applying for the card. For corporate account: The card is issued in the name of the corporation and the cardholder authorized to use the card.
How are payments made to the Credit Card?
Payments are made from a bank account. Simply provide written instructions to pay the credit card from your bank account. Written instructions can be faxed to the Bank or you can scan and e-mail the instructions. Be sure to include your Personal Identification Code (PIC) on your written instructions for payment. Payments can also be made online through our Belize Bank website. You must apply for online banking in order to process payments online.
Can anyone apply for a credit card?
This card product is available to the Bank’s account holders.
How long does it take to get the card once I have applied?
It takes about 2-3 business days to have the cards processed and prepared for mailing. The delivery method determines how long it takes to receive the card.
The mailing will take 5-7 business days by couriered mail (FedEx). The mailing will take 4-6 weeks by registered mail depending on your location.
What are the fees associated with the credit card?
Please contact the Bank to discuss or obtain a schedule of fees.
